About the Role

Job Purpose

To deliver high-quality subject teaching in Key Stage 3, building strong academic foundations and preparing learners for progression into IGCSE. The role focuses on developing critical thinking, independent learning, and global awareness in line with the Cambridge Lower Secondary Curriculum.



Key Responsibilities

Teaching & Learning
• Plan and deliver engaging, subject-specific lessons aligned with the Cambridge Lower Secondary Curriculum.
• Teach assigned subject(s) (e.g., English, Mathematics, Science, ICT, Humanities, etc.).
• Use a variety of teaching strategies to challenge, motivate, and support all learners.
• Promote analytical thinking, research skills, and problem-solving abilities.



Assessment & Progress
• Develop and administer assessments in line with Cambridge standards.
• Monitor, track, and report learner progress effectively.
• Prepare learners for Cambridge Lower Secondary Checkpoint assessments.
• Provide detailed, constructive feedback to support continuous improvement.



Classroom Management
• Create a disciplined, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment.
• Implement effective behaviour management strategies.
• Encourage learner independence, accountability, and leadership.



Pastoral Care
• Support the personal, social, and emotional development of learners.
• Act as a form tutor (where assigned), monitoring student welfare and progress.
• Maintain open communication with parents and guardians.



Co-Curricular & School Life
• Participate in co-curricular activities such as clubs, sports, and academic competitions.
• Support school programmes including sustainability initiatives, leadership programmes, and community service.
• Contribute to educational trips and enrichment activities.



Professional Development
• Engage in continuous professional development (CPD).
• Stay updated with Cambridge curriculum changes and international best practices.
• Participate in departmental planning, meetings, and school improvement initiatives

Requirements

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education or relevant subject area.

• Specialisation in at least one teaching subject (e.g., Mathematics, English, Sciences, Humanities, ICT).

• Experience teaching Key Stage 3 or lower secondary, preferably within a Cambridge/international curriculum.

• Strong subject knowledge and pedagogical skills.

• Excellent classroom management and communication skills.

• TSC registration is an added advantage.
