Last weekend, our learners, teachers, and parents had the incredible opportunity to take part in a Game Count at Maanzoni Wildlife Estate, held in partnership with the inspiring Maanzoni Million Tree Challenge. This unique outdoor experience brought together conservation, adventure, and hands-on environmental learning—perfectly reflecting our commitment to holistic education and sustainability

Connecting with Nature Through the Game Count

The Game Count offered our pupils a first-hand experience of wildlife monitoring—an essential practice in conservation. Guided by rangers and wildlife experts, learners recorded sightings of various animals across the Maanzoni landscape. From zebras and gazelles to graceful giraffes, the children were thrilled to observe wildlife in its natural habitat.

This activity nurtured:

- Critical observation and data-collection skills

- An appreciation for Kenya’s rich biodiversity

- A sense of responsibility towards wildlife conservation

For many pupils, it was their very first time taking part in a structured wildlife-counting exercise, making the day both educational and memorable.

Alongside the Game Count, our school proudly contributed to the Maanzoni Million Tree Challenge, a long-term initiative aimed at restoring the local ecosystem through sustainable tree planting. Learners enthusiastically planted indigenous tree seedlings—each one symbolising hope, environmental responsibility, and a greener future. The activity allowed children to understand the role of trees in combating climate change, improving soil health, and supporting wildlife.

A Day of Learning, Service, and Community

The event was more than just an outdoor activity; it was a powerful reminder of the role we all play in protecting the environment. Collaboration between Fadhili International School and the Maanzoni Wildlife Estate created a meaningful platform for our learners to grow not only academically but also as responsible global citizens. We extend our gratitude to the Maanzoni community for hosting us, and to our parents and staff for their continued support. At Fadhili International School, we remain dedicated to nurturing learners who are aware, informed, compassionate, and ready to shape a sustainable future.

This was such a wonderful read — thank you for capturing the spirit of the day so beautifully. We’re truly honoured to have Fadhili International School join us for the game count. Watching the students experience wildlife in a real conservancy setting is exactly the kind of connection we hope to nurture for the next generation.

A huge thank-you to the teachers and the entire Fadhili team for your energy, enthusiasm, and commitment. We’re excited for everything we’re building together — this is just the beginning. 🌿🦒
